Huntington Beach Wetlands
One of Southern California's largest remaining coastal wetlands, the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve spans over 1,200 acres of restored wetland habitat in Huntington Beach. A premier birdwatching destination, the reserve is home to over 200 species of birds including great blue herons, snowy egrets, and the endangered Belding's savannah sparrow. Free and open year-round with a 1.5-mile loop trail along the bluffs. Best visited early morning.
